Narangi Makhana Phirni

Ingredients to make Narangi Makhana Phirni

  • 1 litre full crèam milk
  • 1/4th cup rice soaked In water and ground to a coarse powder
  • 1/4th cup makhana, roasted and ground to powder
  • ½ cup sugar or as per taste
  • 1/4th cup pistachio
  • few kesar strands
  • 1/2 tsp orange essence
  • few drops of orange color
  • some freshly cut orange
  • 3 green cardamom

How to make Narangi Makhana Phirni

  1. Heat milk in a deep pot.
  2. Add rice powder, makhana, cardamom, kesar and cook on low flame mixing at frequent intervals.
  3. Once, rice is well cooked in milk and the milk has reduced, add sugar and pistachio.
  4. Switch off the flame and let milk cool down a bit.
  5. Add orange color, essence and mix well.
  6. Finally add orange pieces and mix well.
  7. Pour in earthern ware and let it set before you serve.
  8. Best served when chilled.
