Mango Basundi

Ingredients to make Mango Basundi

  • 1 litre full fat milk
  • 1 big bowl of mangoes chopped
  • condensed milk 400 millilitre
  • nuts (almonds, pitachios and cashews) 4 tablespoon
  • pinch of saffron
  • cardamom powder 1/4 teaspoon

How to make Mango Basundi

  1. Start to heat up milk in a pan. Let it boil and reduce to 3/4th. Add the saffron.
  2. Add the condensed milk and mix it well.
  3. Roughly mash the mangoes, add it to the boiling milk and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add the cardamom powder and the chopped nuts. Cook for another 2 minutes. Mango basundi is ready. You can serve it hot refrigerate and serve it cold.
  5. While serving take basundi in a serving bowl, garnish with chopped nuts and enjoy.

My Tip:

Use mangoes with strong flavor like alphanso or kesar.
