ABOUT Rasmalai RECIPE

Rasmalai is a dessert originating from the Indian subcontinent. The name Ras Malai comes from two words Ras means juice and Malai means cream.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Milk - 1 litre
  2. Milk powder - 2 cups
  3. Baking soda - 1/2 tablespoon
  4. Ghee - 2 tablespoon
  5. Sugar - 1/2 cup
  6. Cardamon powder - 2 tablespoon
  7. Egg - 1
  8. Saffron - 1-2 strands
  9. Almonds & Pistachios - For garnishing

Instructions

  1. In a heavy bottom pan add milk after it starts boiling add sugar, saffron, 1 tablespoon cardamon powder and let it boil until the milk gets little thicker.
  2. In a bowl add milk powder, egg, baking powder and 1 tablespoon cardamon powder mix well make a dough. Apply some ghee to hands make small dumplings from the mixture and than put them in the milk.
  3. Let it cook, do not stir it. After cooking the balls will come up than garnish it with almomds and pistachios.
  4. After the ras malai cools down put them in the fridge. Remove from fridge just before serving.
