Chocolate Mousse

Ingredients to make Chocolate Mousse

  • 300g dark chocolate roughly chopped
  •  3 eggs
  •  1/4 cup powdered sugar
  •  1 tablespoon cocoa powder sifted
  •  350ml fresh thick cream
  •  Grated chocolate to serve
  • Toasted chopped almonds for garnishing
  • some crisp biscuits to serve on the side

How to make Chocolate Mousse

  1. 1. Take a glass bowl and add dark chocolate to it.Place the bowl over a pan of simmering water but don't let the water enter into the bowl..Stir continously until melted.
  2. 2.Combine eggs and sugar in a large steel bowl and place over the same pan of simmering water, beat for 5-6 minutes with an electric beater, until the mixture becomes thick and double in volume. Slowly mix the cooled melted chocolate and cocoa powder until combined.
  3. 3. In a separate bowl, whip cream until thick but don't over-beat. Use a metal spoon to gently fold the cream into the chocolate mixture.
  4. 4. Add the mixture into 4 or 5 glasses and chill for an hour.
  5. 5.Garnish with the almonds and a biscuit on the side, or some more grated chocolate on top.
