Ingredients to make Tandoori Leg

  • Yogurt 1 tablespoon (I used 5 tablespoon for 5 legs)
  • Ginger garlic paste 11/2 tablespoon
  • Kashmiri chilli powder 2 tablespoon
  • Paprika 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper 1/4 teaspoon
  • Garam masala 3/4 teaspoon
  • Cumin powder 1 tablespoon
  • Coriander powder 11/2 teaspoon
  • Kasuri methi leaves 1 tablespoon
  • Lemon juice - juice of half lemon
  • Salt to taste
  • Red food colour 1 teaspoon
  • Olive oil or vegetable oil 2 tablespoon
  • Chat masala
  • Coriander leaves

How to make Tandoori Leg

  1. Wash the chicken legs. Put the lines over the pieces using a sharp knife.
  2. The amount of yogurt added for preparing the marination is 1 tablespoon yogurt /chicken piece.
  3. Adding colour to the marination is totally ones own preference. In restaurants they use red colour.
  4. In a large bowl combine all the ingredients mentioned for preparing the marination.
  5. Put the chicken legs into the marination in the bowl.
  6. Let it marinate for at least 4-5 hours.
  7. After marinating the chicken one can either grill it or bake it in the oven.
  8. Now preheat the oven to 375F for 30minutes. (15 minutes each side) Depending on the size of the legs.
  9. Brush a baking tray with about 1-2 tablespoon oil. Place the marinated chicken legs.
  10. Remove from the oven and serve it hot.
  11. Garnish the chicken with cream, squeeze the lemon juice, sprinkle the chat masala, coriander leaves and enjoy this tandoori legs.
My Tip: The more you marinate the better the chicken would taste.
