Dahi Chicken (Curd based Chicken)

Ingredients to make Dahi Chicken (Curd based Chicken)

  • 1 kilogram chicken (boneless or with bone)
  • 250 grams yogurt/curd
  • 6/7 red dry chillies
  • 2 garlic heads and 2 inch ginger finely chopped
  • 6 onion sliced into fine long threads
  • Whole garam masala (10 black pepper seeds, 2 cinnamon stick, 2 bay leaves, 2 black cardamom, 10 cloves, star anise,1 teaspoon cumin)
  • 2 tablespoonn vegetable oil
  • salt to taste
  • water optional

How to make Dahi Chicken (Curd based Chicken)

  1. Into a pan (preferably a nonstick pan/vessel) add all sliced onions.
  2. Then add chopped garlic ginger.
  3. Add all the whole garam masala.
  4. Add the chicken and add sal,t mix well.
  5. Add curd when the chicken starts leaving oil and put the lid on and let it simmer for 15 minutes.
  6. Add a little water if you want some gravy.
  7. If you want it dry then add only 2 tablespoon oil.
  8. Serve hot with roti, parantha and naan
My Tip: The recipe taste even better the next day. Gives out more flavour.
