ABOUT Jamun Rusk Payasa RECIPE

Unique recipe combining regular jamun and payasa recipe, with a twist of rusk flavour... Yummy.. kids love it... Adults enjoy it...

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 small Jamun packet
  2. Oil for frying
  3. 1 small packet Badam powder
  4. 1/2 cup Sugar
  5. 3 Rusk
  6. 1 litre Milk
  7. Pistachio
  8. Cardamom powder

Instructions

  1. In a bowl add jamun mix. Add little water. Mix well to make soft dough (as you do for regular jamun). Make small balls out of it.
  2. In a kadai, heat oil. Fry the prepared balls and keep aside.
  3. In a pan heat milk. Boil until it reduces to 3/4th quantity. Now add sugar. Mix well. Add badam powder. Check for sweetness (as badam powder has sweetness, adjust sugar accordingly).
  4. Now add the jamun and cook till it softens. Add cardamom powder.
  5. In a blender add rusk and coarsely grind it. Add this to the milk mixture. Stir and turn off the heat.
  6. Allow it to cool. Transfer it to refrigerator for 3 hours.
  7. Add pistachios and serve chilled.
