ABOUT Milk jelly and figs RECIPE

A light, sophisticated turkish dessert which you can try at home easily.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 5-6 leaves ( 15gm) gelatine.
  2. 500 ml Whole Milk
  3. 50 gm Icing sugar
  4. 1 tbsp Rose water
  5. 6 ripe figs
  6. Honey ( optional).

Instructions

  1. 1) Line a small,shallow baking tray ( around 18*25cm) with clingflim.
  2. 2) soak the gelatin in cold water for 5 min, until softened. In a small saucepan, heat the milk unit it's steaming, then turn the heat off, whisk the gelatin leaves into the milk one by one, then the icing sugar, then rosewater and leave to cool.
  3. 3) pour into the prepared tray and refrigerate overnight or until it has set.
  4. 4) Turn out to a chopping board or plate, peel off the clingflim, cut it carefully into small diamonds and serve with quarter figs, Turkey's national fruit , you could also drizzle honey over the top if you want.
