ABOUT Prawns Pakoda RECIPE

Pakodas are very popular all over India.There are many other types of pakodas like onions, potatoes, chilly etc. Prawns pakoda is clubed with onion in this recipe.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 1 finely sliced onions
  2. 250 grams prawns
  3. 1 teaspoon red chilly powder
  4. 4-5 tablespoon gram powder/besan
  5. 3-4 tablespoon rice flour
  6. 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  7. ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
  8. 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
  9. pinch of ajwain powder/carom seed powder
  10. 3-4 green chillies
  11. 1 egg
  12. oil to fry
  13. salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Add sliced onions in a mixing bowl.
  2. Add prawns and remaining ingredients in the bowl including besan and rice flour.
  3. Start mixing the mixture into a thick watery dough, it will release moisture from onions and prawns will coat the flour evenly.
  4. Heat oil in a vessel and when it turns hot, add small medium portions of the mixture. Fry on medium flame until golden.
  5. Remove the pakodas on a tissue into a plate.
  6. Serve hot with chutney or ketchup.
