Ingredients to make Doi Potol(pointed gourd in yoghurt)

  • Parval or potol -500gm whole
  • Ginger paste 1tbsp
  • Garlic paste 1/2tbsp
  • Turmeric powder 1tsp
  • Cumin powder 1tsp
  • coriander powder 1tsp
  • Kalonji seeds 1tsp
  • Green chilli 3to4 slit
  • Kashmiri red chilli powder 1tsp
  • Fresh coriander leaves - handful
  • Fresh curd 100 gms
  • Sugar and salt to taste
  • Shahi garam masala 1tsp
  • Onion paste is optional 1 medium

How to make Doi Potol(pointed gourd in yoghurt)

  1. 1. Marinade the pointed hours with salt and turmeric for 15 mins. 2. Fry them slight golden brown. Keep aside.
  2. GRAVY: 1 add oil in wok. Add kalonji, then add green chilly 2. Add the all masalas and ginger garlic paste, fry 3. Add whipped curd, add salt and sugar 4. Add slight water 5. Let the gravy cook for 5mins 6. Add the veggies 7. Add the garam masala 8. Add ghee or raw mustard oil Serve hot with rice or roti
