About Misti Doi (Sweet Yogurt).

It's a very much favourite item in Bengal as dessert .From 8-80 yrs old ,everyone loves it.Our Bengali festivals are incomplete without it.At the very last stage of Lunch or Dinner "" Misti Doi"" is a must.And most of all it's so filling in itself that children also could eat it.

Misti Doi (Sweet Yogurt).

Ingredients to make Misti Doi (Sweet Yogurt).

  • 3 Cups Milk
  • 3/4 th cup Sugar
  • 1 Tbspn water
  • 1 tbspn whisked yogurt

How to make Misti Doi (Sweet Yogurt).

  1. First take a thick bottomed pan and in it pour the milk,let it boil in medium flame.
  2. Now keep 1/3 rd of the sugar and add the remaining sugar to the milk.
  3. Give it a good stir and boil them till all the sugar dissolves and boil till the milk-mixture becomes half and after that set aside the milk.
  4. In another pan add the previously preserved sugar and on the flame in low-medium heat.
  5. Gradually it will turn into brown colour and it will be caramalized.
  6. Now cool the milk mixture slightly and mix the caramalized sugar to it and give it a good stir until it's mixed well.
  7. Now in an earthen pot or in a glass bowl add the whisked yogurt and now pour the boiled milk and keep it in a warm place overnight.
  8. When it's all set,keep it in freeze and serve chilled.Enjoy the dessert.
