An authentic dessert from malabar. Usually made during festivals. A sweet combo of taste and nutrients . Can be served warm or chilled.

Musara

Ingredients to make Musara

  • Milk-1 liter
  • Bengal gram dal - 1/2 cup
  • All purpose flour -1/2 cup
  • Sugar - 1 cup
  • Salt - 1/2 tsp
  • Powdered Cardamom - 1/2 tsp
  • Ghee - 2 tbsp
  • Broken cashews- 2 tbsp
  • Raisin - 1 tsp

How to make Musara

  1. Pressure cook Bengal gram dal for 4-5 mins
  2. Add all purpose flour to half cup of milk and stir well
  3. Boil milk sugar and salt along with the above mixture
  4. Add cardamom and bangal gram dal when starts to boil
  5. When the mixture thickens switch off the flame
  6. Season cashews and raison in ghee
  7. Add the above to the mixture and stir well
  8. Pour in a pudding dish and serve
My Tip: Can be served hot or chilled
