Ingredients to make Milk Poha khaman

  • Poha or rice flakes 2cups
  • milk 2cups
  • Salt to taste
  • Turmeric powder (haldi) 1/2teaspoon
  • Red mirch powder 1tablespoon
  • Sugar 2tablespoon
  • Finely chopped green chili 4
  • Lemon juice 2tablespoon
  • For Tadka :
  • Oil 2 tablespoon
  • Rai 1tablespoon
  • Sesame seeds 2 tablespoon
  • For garnishing :
  • Chopped coriander leaves
  • Dessicated coconut powder

How to make Milk Poha khaman

  1. Wash poha with water and keep aside
  2. In a pan add milk
  3. When milk is heated add turmeric powder and sugar
  4. When it comes to boil, add poha
  5. Stir occasionally.
  6. Add salt, red mirch powder and chopped green chili
  7. Cook till milk absorbs and mixture becomes thick
  8. Add lemon juice and mix well
  9. Off the burner
  10. Spread this mixture into greased deep bottom thali.
  11. Now make tadka of oil, Rai and sesame seeds
  12. Pour tadka evenly over mixture
  13. Let it cool for sometime
  14. Then cut into pieces and garnish with coriander leaves and dessicated coconut powder
My Tip: You can take both poha and oats in equal quantity
