ABOUT Milky Sweet Roses (gulab jamun style)/Golap Pitha soaked in sugar syrup (gulab jamun style) RECIPE

Its a Bangladeshi sweet dish, beautiful rose shaped sweet dish, it is a treat to eyes. Basicaly it is sugar coated recipe but I made it like North Indian gulab jamun, which is soaked in sugar syrup and so that they became yummy juicy roses.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Milk 1 cup
  2. All-purpose floor 1 cup
  3. Salt 1/4 teaspoon
  4. Ghee 1 teaspoon
  5. Oil to fry as required
  6. Red, yellow and green colour 2 -2 drops each
  7. Dusting flour 2 teaspoon
  8. For sugar syrup:
  9. Sugar 1 cup
  10. Water 1/2 cup
  11. Cardamom powder 1/4 teaspoon
  12. Kewada water 2 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Take milk in a heavy bottom pan, now add salt in it and boil it on a low heat.
  2. When it starts boiling, add flour into it and stir well to mix.
  3. Now take it off the heat and keep it covered with cling foil for 10 minutes.
  4. Now take another big bowl. Add flour in it. Now apply ghee on it and make a smooth dough.
  5. Now dough should be divided into three parts.
  6. Mix colour in each part. Knead it very well.
  7. Now take a small ball of dough of red colour and roll it into a big roti with the help of some flour.
  8. Take a bowl and cut in four poories.
  9. Now place all poori one by one by overlapping each other.
  10. Now take a very small piece of the dough and place it in the center of first poori.
  11. Now roll them very tightly. Now you get a bundle of poori. Cut this bundle from the middle point.
  12. Now take one part of it in your hand and open petals of your roses .
  13. Now you will get two roses from each roll.
  14. Now take small ball of yellow and green dough and make all roses in the same way.
  15. Now take a heavy bottom wok, heat oil in it.
  16. Now deep fry your roses one by one or two to three at once on medium heat.
  17. When they became golden pink, take then out in kitchen towel to absorb extra oil.
  18. Meanwhile take another pan, add sugar and water in it and boil it on slow flame. Make one strand syrup add cardamom powder and kewada water in it and keep aside.
  19. Now soak all your roses in the luke warm sugar syrup for 5 to 6 minutes like gulab jamuns, flip your roses in the sugar syrup, couple of times.
  20. Now your sweet colourful roses are ready to serve.
  21. You can serve this with cold rabri or icecream and as it is.
