Ingredients to make Cabinet Pudding

  • Milk - 150 ml
  • Sugar - 50 gm
  • Vanill essence - 5 ml
  • Sponge cake - 60 gms
  • Eggs - 2
  • Raisins - 40 gms

How to make Cabinet Pudding

  1. Cut the sponge cake into square cubes. Keep it aside.
  2. Now in a pan add milk and sugar. Let the sugar dissolve completely.
  3. Switch of the flame. N let the milk cool to room temperature.
  4. After that add eggs and just whisk it manually. Seive it so that no lumps of egg are there.
  5. In a baking bowl , with high edges .grease it all over inside . put the cake cubes all over.
  6. Add some raisins here.
  7. Pour the egg -milk mixture all over the sponge cake cubes in the bowl. Add remaining raisins over it.
  8. Cover it with foil paper.
  9. Now in a cooker put some salt at the bottom. Keep a stand on it.
  10. Then a bowl bigger than the one in which batter is added.
  11. Add water to the big bowl. And then put the batter bowl in the water.
  12. Cover it with lid without whistle on a medium flame.
  13. It took 45 -50 min approx to cook. Keep checking in between.
  14. After its done. Take it out of the cooker and let it cool.
  15. Take out the ready pudding in a serving tray.
  16. The yummy pudding is ready to serve.
My Tip: It can be baked in oven at 180℃ for 25 minutes.
