ABOUT Ghiya Kheer/ Bottle Gourd Pudding RECIPE

Ghia or Bottle gourd pudding can be eaten in fast, it is also delicious as well as nutritious, I often cook this easy to prepare recipe during fasting days. Most people simply do not like the gourd but is considered beneficial to health. Here I have prepared the bottle gourd pudding which is a delicious addition to fast as well as the same can be served to guests.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Bottle guard 1/2 kilograms
  2. Sugar 2 tablespoon or as per taste
  3. Milk boiled 1 litre
  4. Chopped almonds 1 tablespoon
  5. Chopped cashew nut 1 tablespoon
  6. Pistachio chopped 1 tablespoon
  7. Green cardamom powder 1 teaspoon
  8. Mava 1 tablespoon grated
  9. Desi ghee 2 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Wash and grate the bottle gourd. Cook the milk in a heavy bottom pan with cardamom powder and chopped dry fruits.
  2. Heat the ghee in another pan and fry bottle gourd till golden.Then add one cup water, cover and cook the bottle gourd till its done.
  3. Now mix the bottle gourd with milk, cook it for 10 minutes on medium hot heat, turn off the flame. Cool and serve.
