Whole Wheat Galette

Ingredients to make Whole Wheat Galette

  • For the crust:
  • Wholewheat flour 1.5 cup
  • All purpose flour 1/2 cup
  • Cold butter 3/4 cup
  • Ice cold water as required
  • Vinegar 2 tablespoon
  • Salt 2 teaspoon
  • For Filling:
  • 2 onions
  • 2 bell pepper
  • 250 gram cottage cheese/ paneer
  • Salt as required
  • Black pepper powder 1 teaspoon
  • Dried oregano powder 1 tablespoon
  • Mozzarella cheese 1/2 cup (grated)
  • Milk for the glaze
  • White sesame seeds 1 teaspoon

How to make Whole Wheat Galette

  1. Mix the wholewheat flour, all purpose flour and salt in a bowl.
  2. Then add the cold butter cubes and rub with clean fingers so that mixture forms small crumbs.
  3. Add the vinegar. Then add ice cold water slowly and start mixing.
  4. Knead for 5 minutes to form a soft dough. Cover with cling film and refrigerate
  5. For filling: Chop the onion, capsicum and cottage cheese in small cubes. Add salt, pepper powder, oregano
  6. Take some portion from the prepared dough and roll out with the rolling pin.
  7. Transfer this base to a greased and lined baking tray.
  8. Spread the mozzarella cheese on the base, leaving about 1 inch from the edge.
  9. Next add the onions, capsicum and cottage cheese on top of the cheese layer. Spread evenly.
  10. Now fold edges towards inside. Brush with milk for glaze. Sprinkle white sesame seeds
  11. Preheat the oven to 180 degree centigrade, and bake for 25 minutes.
  12. Serve hot.
My Tip: You can change the filling according to your kids choice.
