Ingredients to make Homemade Alpenliebe Candy

  • Sugar -1 cup
  • Butter- 1/4 tablespoon
  • Fresh cream or malai or whipped cream- 1/2 tablespoon

How to make Homemade Alpenliebe Candy

  1. Heat sugar in a very heavy bottomed pan and caramelize it with dry method (without using water).
  2. Continue stirring and keep eye on it so that its not burning.
  3. When it caramelizes,(it takes 30 to 35 minutes for caramelization)switch off the flame.
  4. Now add butter and mix well.
  5. Again switch on the flame and cook on very very slow flame for 2 to 3 minutes.
  6. Now again switch off the flame and add fresh cream. Now at this stage sugar would be hard but don't worry.
  7. Now again switch on the flame and cook it on a very slow flame till you get creamy consistency.
  8. Now switch off the flame and pour the caramel on greased plastic sheet.
  9. When caramel is little dried cut the round shape with bottle cap.
