The name sounds interesting.Isn't it? It was named by my 3 year old daughter as she could not utter the name of the ladoos :blush:. We found it interesting and re-named these tasty,healthy ladoos as 'Alli-Billi Ladoos.'

Ingredients to make Alli-Billi Ladoos

  • Finger millets flour - 1 cup
  • Sorghum Flour - 1 cup
  • Little millets Flour - 1/2 cup
  • Peanuts- 1 cup
  • Almonds- 1/4 cup
  • Black gram - 1 cup
  • Bengal gram - 1 /2 cup
  • Flattened rice- 1/4 cup
  • Clarified butter/ Ghee- 1 cup
  • Sugar powder- 3 cups.

How to make Alli-Billi Ladoos

  1. Dry roast all the three millet flours one after the other.
  2. Transfer these into a bowl.Mix them well.
  3. Now over a medium flame, roast the peanuts and almonds. Once roasted , allow them to cool.
  4. Combine these two and grind them in a dry mixie jar to form a coarse powder. Transfer this powder into the bowl of millet flours.
  5. Dry roast the black gram and bengal gram one after the other over a medium flame until they turn light brown color. Keep this aside to cool.
  6. Then make a fine powder of the bengal gram and black gram in a dry mixie jar. Mix it well and transfer it to the above mixture.
  7. Take a pan,slightly roast the flattened rice for two minutes over a low flame and make a fine powder of this in a dry mixie jar. Transfer this powder into the bowl of prepared mixture.
  8. In the meanwhile , heat ghee over a low flame.
  9. Add sugar powder to the mixed flours and powdered mixture. Ensure that no lumps are formed.
  10. Make small round shaped ladoos out of this mixture.Serve these healthy and tasty ladoos in a serving bowl.
  11. These can be stored in an airtight container for two or three weeks.
My Tip: A healthier and a tastier version of ladoos for the kids .
