ABOUT Danyachi Usal/Maharashtrian Peanut Curry RECIPE

I picked this recipe from Tarladalal's cookbook.This usal have an incredible coconut flavor and this dish tastes absolutely delicious when served along with both rice and rotis. The pressure cooked peanuts brings the crunchiness to this dish and whoever love peanuts in their curry whille definitely fallen in love with this quick Danyachi usal.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1/2 cup Raw peanuts
  2. 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
  3. 1 Green chilly (finely chopped)
  4. Oil as required
  5. 2 tbsp Chopped coriander leaves
  6. Salt as per taste
  7. To grind: 1/2 cup Grated coconut
  8. 3 Green chillies
  9. 1 inch Ginger (chopped)

Instructions

  1. Take all the ingredients given under to grind as fine paste. Meanwhile pressure cook the peanuts with one cup of water up to 3 whistles, once the steam is released, drain the water and keep aside.
  2. Heat enough oil, add the cumin seeds, the grounded paste and cook for a few seconds. Add the peanuts, a cup of water, salt and bring everything to a boil.
  3. Cook until the curry turns a bit thick, turn off the stove. Garnish with chopped green chillies and chopped coriander leaves. Serve hot with rice or rotis.
