Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Kaju .. cahew nuts whole 250 g
  2. Kishmish 1 cup
  3. Ghee preferably cow for frying
  4. Onion paste 2 tablespoon
  5. Adrak paste .. ginger paste 1 tea spoon
  6. Tomato paste 1/2cup
  7. Lal mirch powder 1/2tea spoon
  8. Haldi powder 1/2 tea spoon
  9. Salt to taste
  10. Masala A
  11. Jeera 1 tsp , coriander 1 tsp, dalchini 1 inch peice, long 8 , choti ilachi 6 , badi ilachi 2 , kali mirchi 10 Roast lightly grind to paste.
  12. Masala B
  13. 1/2 cup almonds soak two hours and peal grind to paste. Khas khas 1 tablespoon. Soaked and ground to paste

Instructions

  1. First fry kajoo in a one teaspoon full of ghee taking care to lightly brown them without making them too brown remove and keep.
  2. In same ghee fry onions till lightly brown and add dry masala like haldi and red chilliy powder.
  3. Add tomato and salt and fry masala till ghee is seperated. Now add salt and mix well
  4. Add masala A and bhuno till ghee seperates on low heat.
  5. Add prepared kajoo and bhuno along with masala till coated well
  6. Add Masala B and bhuno for further two minutes or till raw ness dissappears. Add kishmish if using.
  7. Add 1/2 cup of water. Cover with lid and simmer for 5 minutes or till kajoos are softened but not mushy and masala have agrregated and are not watery. Test and adjust seasoning.
  8. Serve hot with any Indian breads.
