Raw mango and chana dal stuffed karelas

Ingredients to make Raw mango and chana dal stuffed karelas

  • Karela 250gm.
  • Chana dal 1/2 cup
  • Grated raw mango 2 tbsp
  • Cumin seed 1 tsp
  • Fennel Seeds 1 tsp
  • Red chilli powder 2 tsp
  • Coriander powder 2 tsp
  • Turmeric 1/2 tsp
  • Oil for stuffing 2 tsp
  • Oil for frying 3 tbsp
  • Thread

How to make Raw mango and chana dal stuffed karelas

  1. Soak chana dal for 1 hour,boil it and drain it.
  2. Wash and peel the karelas, make a middle slit and deseed the karela. sprinkle some salt on karelas and keep aside.
  3. Again wash it propery.
  4. For filling heat oil in a pan add cumin seeds,fennel seeds and after they crackle add dry spices and roast for a while.
  5. Add the grated raw mango and boiled channa dal.
  6. Cook for 5 to 8 minutes until it becomes soft and mix with all spices.
  7. Let it cool.
  8. Now take karela add filling,wrap it with thread very well.
  9. Heat 3tbsp oil in a pan and fry karelas till it become brown and soft.
  10. Serve with roti.
My Tip: You can store it for 1 week on freeze.
