Ingredients to make Sarso ka saag with makki ki roti

  • Sarson(mustard)- two bunches
  • Palak(spinach)- one bunch
  • Soye- one bunch
  • Methi(fenugreek)- one bunch
  • Bathua- one bunch
  • Tomatoes big sized- 2
  • Desi ghee- 2tbsp
  • Makki atta for saag..2tbsp
  • Salt
  • Onion - 1
  • Green chilly- 1
  • Ginger and garlic chopped- 1 tbsp
  • Makki atta for roti- 2 cups

How to make Sarso ka saag with makki ki roti

  1. Clean,wash thrice,chop all the greens. Pressurecook with one cup water for 40 minutes after one whisle on slow fire. add 2 tbsp makki atta
  2. Blend to make fine paste. In a pan add 2 tsp butter or ghee.Add chopped garlic and onion.Sauté till onions become translucent. Add chopped tomato to it and cook till butter comes out .Add saag to and cook for 5 minutes.
  3. It is ready to eat.Serve piping hot with makki di roti
  4. Knead makki ka atta into a dough by adding warm water,divide into balls.
  5. Pat each ball into a small round Roti between your palms, or make rotis by patting on a flat surface or on a plastic sheet taking care that the Roti is not too thin.Cook on a hot tawa applying little ghee, roast on both sides.
  6. Serve with sarso ka saag
