Ingredients to make Bread Idli- Idli with a Twist

  • 7 - 8 Slices of Bread
  • 3 boiled n mashed potatoes
  • 1 onion-sliced
  • 2 slit green chillies
  • 15-20 Curry Leaves
  • 2 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 cup curd
  • Oil as needed
  • chopped coriander leaves for garnishing
  • Grated coconut for garnishing

How to make Bread Idli- Idli with a Twist

  1. Take 1 tbsp oil in a pan and add 1 tsp mustard seeds. Let the seeds crackle.
  2. Add 8-10curry leaves. Add sliced onions.
  3. Let the onions cook properly.
  4. Add 1 tsp turmeric powder, 1/2 tsp red chilli powder n 1tsp coriander powder.
  5. Add the boiled n mashed potatoes. Let it cook properly n let it cool.
  6. For preparing spiced curd- Add 1 tbsp oil in a pan. Add Mustard seeds. Let it crackle. Add 8-10 curry leaves. Add remaining red chilli n turmeric powder. Put this mixture in the curd n giv it a gud mix.
  7. Now we will prepare the bread idlis. Take a small bowl n keep it on the bread to cut it into a round shape. Put the potato mixture over the bread.
  8. Now take 1 tbsp oil in a non stick or grill pan n keep the bread with the potato side down on the pan to make it crisp. U can sprinkle oil as per ur choice. Apply the spiced curd on the top side of the bread
  9. Cover with a lid n cook for 2-3 minutes.
  10. Serve hot with grated coconut n coriander leaves.

My Tip:

U can adjust the red chillies according to ur kids taste
