Loved by everyone. I had learnt this from my Grand Maa. A famous sweet dish made by her.

Gulab Jamuns

Ingredients to make Gulab Jamuns

  • 500 gm mawa
  • 50 gm maida
  • 900 gm sugar
  • Ghee for frying
  • Water to make sugar syrup
  • 1/4 tea spoon elaichi powder

How to make Gulab Jamuns

  1. Grate mawa and mix maida in it
  2. Add elaichi powder and mix all well
  3. Make equal sized balls from it
  4. Heat ghee in a kadai and fry these balls on very slow flame
  5. Stir ghee in kadai so that every ball will cook well and in same color from all side
  6. Take out these balls when they become medium brown in colour
  7. Now dip all balls in sugar syrup.
  8. Keep them for 3 to 4 hours in sugar syrup.
  9. Gulab jamun is ready to eat.
  10. For sugar syrup-
  11. Add sugar and water in a pan.
  12. Keep it on flame. Make syrup of one string.
  13. Let the sugar syrup get cool a little.
  14. Add the balls in it
My Tip: Dont dip balls in too hot sugar syrup . Let it cool a little.
