Chingri Maacher Bati Chorchori (Prawns Bengali Style)

Ingredients to make Chingri Maacher Bati Chorchori (Prawns Bengali Style)

  • 200 gms medium size prawns
  • 2 medium potatoes
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1/2 tsp haldi
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • 2 tbsp mustard oil
  • Salt to taste

How to make Chingri Maacher Bati Chorchori (Prawns Bengali Style)

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add the diced potatoes and onions together. Sauté for a minute or two, then add the spices and sauté again.
  2. If the masala dries up then you can sprinkle some water. Cover with a lid and cook till the potatoes are three fourth done.
  3. Now add the prawns and keep stirring. Once the prawns start changing colour, add a cup of water to make the gravy. Let it come to boil.
  4. Once the potatoes are cooked adjust the seasonings. Transfer it to a serving dish and drizzle some raw mustard oil on top.
  5. Serve with hot rice for best taste.

My Tip:

If you want you can add whole green chillies while adding the prawns.
