AAM DUDH CHINGRI OR RAW MANGO MILKY PRAWNS

Ingredients to make AAM DUDH CHINGRI OR RAW MANGO MILKY PRAWNS

  • Prawns - 250 gm (washed and devained)
  • Grated coconut - 3 tablespoons
  • Coconut milk - 1 cup
  • Mustard seeds - 1 1/2 tablespoons
  • Grated raw mango - 1 medium
  • Green chilli - 4 / 5
  • Mustard oil - 3 tablespoons
  • Chilli powder - 1teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder - 1teaspoon
  • Salt to taste
  • Sugar - 1tablespoons

How to make AAM DUDH CHINGRI OR RAW MANGO MILKY PRAWNS

  1. Grind the mustard seeds with 3 no of green chillies , grated coconut and little bit of water . Keep aside .
  2. Smear the prawns with little salt and a pinch of turmeric powder and keep covered .
  3. Heat the oil and add remaining green chillies ( slited) when splitter add the prawns . Saute on low for a couple of minutes or till the prawns turn a little coral in colour.
  4. Add the grated raw mango and a pinch of salt . Keep mixing with a very light hand till the raw smell of the mango are gone ( approx 2 minutes ) .
  5. Add the mustard paste and turmeric powder and give it a good mix and cook on low flame till it coats the prawns .
  6. Add 1 cup of coconut milk and mix with sugar and salt and chilli powder . Cover and let it simmer on low till all the milk evaporated and the gravy coats the prawns .
  7. Serve hot or at room temperature with hot steamed white Rice .
