Ingredients to make Bedmi paratha

  • 1 /2 cup yellow moong daal
  • water to soak daal
  • 1 cup wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • water to knead a dough
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1 tsp red chilly powder
  • 1.tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tso asafoetida
  • salt to taste
  • butter for frying prathas

How to make Bedmi paratha

  1. Wash and soak the moong daal for one hour
  2. Grind the daal without water , to make a smooth paste
  3. Now heat a wok add oil in it , add asafoetida and cumin seeds into it
  4. Now add daal paste into oil and add all other spices
  5. Roast the daal with continue stirring , till mixture collect together and leaves the wok
  6. The stuffing is ready , keep aside to cool
  7. Make equal sized balls from the mixture and keep aside
  8. knead a soft dough by mixing both flour
  9. Roll out a pratha , and place a ball of ready stuffing into it , and cover the edeges
  10. Roll again into a thin paratha carefully so mixture will not come out
  11. Heat a nonstick griddle ,shallow fry the paratha with butter , till golden brown.
  12. Serve hot with mango pickle and cup of tea and enjoy

My Tip:

Stuffing can be prepare before one day ,and can be used for 4-5 days.
