Ingredients to make nutritious paratha

  • For dough-
  • 1 1/2 cup wheat flour
  • 1 tsp malai/cream
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as required
  • FOR STUFFING-
  • 1/2 cup soya chunks
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 1 tsp Ginger paste
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp coriander leaves chopped
  • 1/2 tsp dry mango powder or chat masala
  • 1 1/2 cup water for boiling soya chunks
  • oil for frying paratha

How to make nutritious paratha

  1. for making dough-
  2. mix wheat flour, malai, salt and water. knead a soft dough. keep aside for 15-20 minutes.
  3. boil 1 1/2 cup water. once it starts boiling switch off the flame and add the soya chunks.
  4. keep aside for 15 minutes. drain water and rinse with cold water twice.
  5. squeeze out extra water completely then pulse grind for a second. do this for twice or thrice giving intervals till its done.
  6. transfer it to a bowl and add all the stuffing ingrediants listed above. mix well and keep aside.
  7. divide the dough into equal parts and roll the chapathi slightly thicker.
  8. place the filling in the center and gather the dough from all sides.
  9. seal it well.
  10. flip to other side and start rolling to a thicker paratha.
  11. dust flour when needed.
  12. heat a tawa and place the paratha. drizzle oil and cook untill the paratha turn golden brown on both sides.
  13. make all the parathas in the same way.
  14. serve hot with raita and pickle.
