ABOUT Daddojanam RECIPE

Daddojanam is classical recipe from centuries for good heath. It is made with yogurt and seasoned with garlic, chillies, curry leaves , cumin, mustard, split urid dal and channa dal.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Rice-1 cup
  2. Water-3 cups
  3. Yogurt-500 gms
  4. Green Chillies-2
  5. Ginger- finely chopped
  6. Mustard seeds, cumin, urid dal, channa dal, curry leaves for seasoning
  7. Oil- little
  8. Cashews- 10( fried in littled ghee)
  9. Salt- 1 spoon

Instructions

  1. In a pressure cooker, add 1 cup rice and 3 cups water and salt and cook for 3 whistles
  2. Now mash the cooked rice with potato masher.
  3. To this add yogurt and mash well. Check for salt and add.
  4. Now do the seasoning with finely chopped chillies, ginger , mustard, cumin, urid dal, channa dal, curry leaves and saute for 3 min and add it to yogurt rice.
  5. Transfer it into serving bowl and garnish with cashews.
