About Seviyan Recipe

Delicious roasted vermicelli in thick milk garnished with nuts...very festive..very traditional!

Seviyan

Ingredients to make Seviyan

  • 1 cup seviyan/vermicelli
  • 3 tablespoon ghee
  • 1/2 cup sugar (add less or more acc to taste)
  • 500ml milk
  • handful of cashews
  • handful of raisins

How to make Seviyan

  1. Heat ghee in a pan and add seviyan or vermicelli .Fry until golden brown.Drain and fry cashews in same ghee, take out and reserve.
  2. Now add milk into the same pan and let it boil.Add roasted seviyan and mix gently.
  3. Add sugar to it.Lower the flame and let it cook for about 5-6 minutes.
  4. Garnish the seviyan with some cashews and raisins.Serve hot.

My Tip:

You can also serve the seviyan cold after refrigerating it for 2-3 hours.
