Dal-Pakwaan

Ingredients to make Dal-Pakwaan

  • For the dal-
  • 1cup chana dal
  • 1tsp haldi
  • 1 tsp lal mirchi powder
  • 1 tbsp coriander powder
  • 1tsp amchur powder
  • 1tsp jeera
  • for pakwaan-
  • 1cup maida
  • ajwain- 1/4 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • OIl- 2 tbsp
  • Oil for deep frying

How to make Dal-Pakwaan

  1. Boil dal with haldi and salt.
  2. Add masalas to the dal. Take oil in pan
  3. Add jeera and let pop, pour this tadka on top of dal.
  4. Make dough for pakwaan except oil.
  5. Make balls and roll it like a roti.
  6. Prick it with fork and fry it till golden.

My Tip:

Add some sooji in pakwaan for extra crispiness.

I love this dish! Thanks for sharing. I recently had a version where they added Saunth and papadis in the Dal Pakwaan and the result was fabulous!
