Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. urad dal 1 cup
  2. chana dal little
  3. ginger vertically chopped 1 inch
  4. Curry leaves little
  5. coconut roughly chopped
  6. Salt as per the taste
  7. Refined oil for frying
  8. toordal half cup
  9. Tomato 1
  10. jaggery little
  11. Turmeric powder 1 tbsp
  12. coriander leaves little
  13. Ghee 1 tbsp
  14. mustard seeds 1 tbsp
  15. hing little
  16. water as per the consistency

Instructions

  1. Wash urad dal and chana dal.
  2. Soak these two ingredients in water for atleast 30 mins.
  3. After that, grind till these become fine paste by sprinkling a very little amount of water.
  4. To this mixture, put vertically chopped ginger, chopped green chillies, coconut roughly chopped and curry leaves. Finally salt as per the taste.
  5. Take small quantity of this mixture and dip into hot oil. When it becomes golden colour, take it out from the oil and place it on the tissue paper.
  6. Now the bondas are ready, keep it aside.
  7. For preparing soup, the steps are as follows:
  8. To a pan add toor dal, finely chopped tomato, green chillies, ginger.
  9. Pressure cook these, till the toor dal becomes finely cooked .
  10. Add enough water, Jaggery, turmeric powder and salt. Again cook it. Add coriander leaves while boiling.
  11. Then prepare a seasoning of mustard seeds, curry leaves and hing by adding ghee.
  12. Finely dip bonda into this hot soup.
  13. Now the bonda soup is ready to serve . Serve hot.
