ABOUT CHICKEN RAVA/ SOOJI BRIYANI! RECIPE

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Chicken- 1/2 kg.
  2. Rava- 2 cups.
  3. Ghee- 2 tsp + 1 tsp
  4. Bay leaf- 1 no
  5. Star anise- 1
  6. Marati Mokku- 1
  7. Cinnamon- 2
  8. Cloves- 3
  9. Cardamom- 1
  10. Coriander leaves- 5 tsp
  11. Mint leaves- 5 tsp.
  12. Onions- 1 no
  13. Ginger garlic paste- 1 1/2 tsp.
  14. Tomato- 1 no
  15. Turmeric Powder- 1/4 tsp.
  16. Chilli powder- 1 tsp.
  17. Briyani masala powder- 1 tsp
  18. Lemon juice- 1/2 tsp.
  19. Salt- as required.
  20. TO MARINATE AND FRY CHICKEN:
  21. Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
  22. Chilli powder- 1 tsp.
  23. Coriander powder- 1 1/2 tsp.
  24. Chicken masala- 2 tsp.
  25. Vinegar or lemon juice- 1 tsp.
  26. Ghee- 2 tsp.
  27. Salt- 1 tsp.

Instructions

  1. Wash and marinate chicken with marinating ingredients except ghee, let the marinate sit for 30 mins.
  2. Dry roast rava in low flame till aroma and let it cool down.
  3. Boil 5 cups of water separately till boiling temperature and keep it hot till use.
  4. Heat ghee in a pan and add marinated chicken and fry in medium flame till chicken cooks to soft and masala binds with chicken well ( no need to add water).
  5. Heat ghee in a wide pan, add bay leaf, star anise, marati mokku, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves and fry in low flame till aroma.
  6. Then add chopped onions, ginger garlic paste and saute till raw smell leaves.
  7. Followed by mint and coriander leaves and saute for a minute, add chopped tomatoes, saute till mushy.
  8. Its time to add our spice powders, add chilli powder, turmeric powder, briyani masala powder and fry till masala blends will other ingredients well.
  9. Add chicken and mix well.
  10. Then add roasted rava and mix once.
  11. Add 5 cups of hot water, salt and boil till the mixture thickens and sooji boils to soft.
  12. When the biryani forms a soft mass, add 1 tsp ghee, lemon juice, mix and remove form flame.
  13. Serve hot with raita or side dish of your choice.
