Cluster beans palya this way is a dish of North Karnataka. Using that tried a roll for party. Turned out well and all liked it. Give it a try friends... Cluster beans is good for heart, improves blood circulation, good for diabetic patients, strengthens bone.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 500 gms cluster beans
  2. 5 tablespoon oil
  3. 2 medium onions chopped
  4. 3 small tomato chopped
  5. 1.5 to 2 tablespoon Sambar powder
  6. 1 tablespoon salt / as per taste
  7. Small lemon sized jaggery
  8. 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
  9. Water
  10. Handful of groundnuts
  11. 6 chapatis

Instructions

  1. Peel the onions and finely chop it.
  2. Wash and chop the cluster beans.
  3. Heat a cooker on medium flame. Add oil. Add onions and fry till they turn translucent.
  4. Add cluster beans and fry till raw smell goes off.
  5. Once it's done add tomatoes. Fry till it turns soft.
  6. Now add salt, Sambar powder, jaggery and turmeric.
  7. Add sufficient water to pressure cook the dish and close the lid. Cook for 2 whistles or until the dish is cooked.
  8. In a pan dry roast groundnuts until it crackles. Once it's cooled, make a coarse powder of it.
  9. Once the cooker is cooled, open the lid. Check for seasoning. Adjust seasoning if necessary. Now add the groundnut powder and mix gently.
  10. Cluster beans palya is ready.
  11. Now take a chapati and cut it in sqaure or rectangular shape.
  12. Place the prepared palya on one side of the chapati and roll it. [You can add onion, carrot, cabbage Julians (thinly sliced) and top it with cheese and roll].
  13. Serve the roll along with prepared palya or sauce.
