ABOUT Cheesy stuffed idli tadka RECIPE

An all time favourite snack.A very nice tiffin option for kids and a finger food in parties.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. FOR IDLI BATTER
  2. 2 Cups Rawa
  3. 1 cup Dahi
  4. Salt to taste
  5. For stuffing
  6. 2 tbsp Oil
  7. 1 tsp mustard seeds
  8. 4-5 Curry Leaves
  9. 1/2 cup chopped onions
  10. 1/2 cup potatoes boiled and mashed
  11. 1/2 cup grated paneer
  12. 1/4 cup chopped tomatoes
  13. 1/4 cup boiled and coarsely mashed peas
  14. 1 tsp red chilli powder
  15. 1 tsp Coriander powder
  16. 1 tbsp maggi masala e magic
  17. 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  18. 1 tbsp finely chopped Coriander leaves
  19. 1/2 cup Grated Cheese
  20. For tempering(optional)
  21. 1 tbsp oil
  22. 1 tsp mustard seeds
  23. 1 tbsp chopped curry leaves
  24. A big pinch red chilli powder

Instructions

  1. For idli batter
  2. Soak 2 cups rawa with 1 cup of dahi for an hour.
  3. Add some water and keep the normal consistency of idli batter.
  4. Add salt to taste.
  5. For stuffing
  6. Add oil in apan and add rai and curry leaves.
  7. Now add finely chopped onions and green chillies.Saute till onions turn pink.
  8. Now add finely chopped capsicum and saute for few minutes.
  9. Now add finely chopped tomatoes and mashed potatoes.Mix well.
  10. Now add boiled peas and saute well.Add grated paneer along with salt and all the masalas.
  11. Lastly add finely chopped coriander leaves and mix well.
  12. Your stuffing is ready.Keep it aside.
  13. Final assembling
  14. Grease the idli mould properly with oil on all sides.
  15. Now fill the moulds half with the batter.
  16. Now place some stuffing over it in the centre.Top witha tbsp of grated cheese.
  17. Again spread the idli batter over it and seal the stuffing from all sides.
  18. Steam the idlis in the steamer for around 15 minutes or till the toothpick comes out clean.
  19. Cool the idlis and cut all the idlis in half.
  20. For tempering(optional)
  21. Now heat a tsp of oil in a non stick pan and add mustard seeds,curry leaves and pinch of red chilli powder.
  22. Spread the tempering evenly over the pan and saute all the idlis until slightly brown and crisp.
  23. Serve it along with coconut chutney.
