Christmas sugar cookies

Ingredients to make Christmas sugar cookies

  • Unsalted butter- 100gms
  • Sugar powdered- 3/4 cup
  • All purpose Flour(maida)- 200gms
  • Baking powder- 1/2 tsp
  • a pinch of salt
  • Egg-1
  • Vanilla extract- 1 tsp
  • Cookie cutters of different shapes.

How to make Christmas sugar cookies

  1. Make sure that all ingredients are at room temp. Preheat oven at 180 deg C when you are ready to bake. Line two large baking trays.
  2. Cream the butter and sugar together till light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla, continue beating.
  4. Lastly add flour, baking powder and salt. It will form a soft and smooth dough.
  5. Wrap and chill this dough for an hour.
  6. When you are ready to bake preheat oven. Roll out half the dough into a 1/4 inch thickness, dip cutter in plain flour and cut out shapes, transfer onto prepared sheets.
  7. Place the baking sheets with the unbaked cookies in the refrigerator again for 15 minutes.Bake for 10 minutes. Gather and re roll trimmings. Repeat with all of the dough.

My Tip:

can be frosted with coloured royal icing and sprinklers if desired.
