Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. FOR BALLS :
  2. 2 boiled and mashed big sized Potatoes
  3. 1 chopped onion
  4. 1 chopped green chilly
  5. 1 inch chopped ginger
  6. 1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
  7. 1/4 tsp dry mango powder
  8. Salt to taste
  9. 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  10. 1 tsp Lemon juice
  11. 1/4 tsp sugar
  12. Oil for deep frying
  13. 2 amul cheese cubes
  14. For batter :
  15. 1 cup Bengal gram flour
  16. 1/4 tsp chilly powder
  17. A pinch of asadoetida
  18. A pich of soda bicarbonate
  19. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. FOR BALLS :
  2. Heat the oil in a broad pan
  3. Add ginger , green chilly, turmeric powder, coriander leaves, lemon juice, potatoes,sugar,salt
  4. Mix well and saute on medium flame for 3 to 4 minutes
  5. Remove from flame and divide into equal portion
  6. Make tikkis and add cheese in the center.
  7. Start roll in to make balls very gently
  8. Refrigerate them for 15 minutes
  9. FOR DEEP FRYING :
  10. Heat the oil in a kadhai/wok to deep fry
  11. Mix together all the ingredients of batter
  12. Dip the potato balls in the prepared batter and deep fry them
  13. Fry few balls at a time very gently on medium flame till they turn golden brown
  14. Drain on absorbent paper and serve hot with green chutney or tamarind chutney
