ABOUT Apricot Delight RECIPE

A very delicious dessert. Apricot already gives such nice flavours, added with custard and whipped cream, layer by layer. This is the ideal dessert for parties, very easy to prepare.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Dry apricots - 200 gms
  2. Sugar - 1 cup
  3. Milk - 500 ml
  4. Custard Powder - 1 tbsp
  5. For Custard:
  6. Sugar - 1 cup
  7. Whipped Cream - 1/2 cup
  8. Vanilla essence - 1/2tsp
  9. For Decoration:
  10. Cherry - 10-12

Instructions

  1. Immerse the apricots in water for 6-7 hours.
  2. Deseed the apricots. And boil them in 1 cup water in which it was soaked.
  3. When the apricots becomes soft, add sugar to this.
  4. After a while it will become thick like chutney.
  5. Keep it aside to cool.
  6. For vanilla flavoured custard:
  7. Boil the milk, and reduce it till it comes to 3/4th of the actual quantity.
  8. Add sugar to this, and reduce it again.
  9. Mix the custard powder to some cold milk and mix well with the boiled milk. Continuously stir, so that there are no lumps.
  10. Add 1 tsp vanilla essence to this.
  11. Strain the milk through a strainer and keep the remains covered with a clean film.
  12. Take small serving glasses and keep the first layer of apricot, then put the custard and top it off with whipped cream.
  13. Garnish with cherry. And serve chill.
