ABOUT Fish roe fritters RECIPE

A typical bengali delicacy, generally eaten as an accompaniment with daal and rice.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Rohu fish roe 250 gm
  2. Egg 1
  3. Salt 1 tspn
  4. Green chilli 1
  5. Fresh ginger 1 inch piece
  6. Turmeric powder 1/2 tspn
  7. Besan/ gram flour 1 tbspn
  8. Vegetable oil for deep frying

Instructions

  1. Wash fish roe and clean by removing the veins
  2. Chop ginger and green chilli
  3. Add chopped chilli, ginger, turmeric powder, salt, besan and egg to fish roe and mix well
  4. Heat oil till medium hot for deep frying
  5. Drop small portions of fish roe mix into oil and fry thoroughly in medium heat so that it's cooked properly from inside
  6. Drain fritters and serve it with a dash of lime
