ABOUT Tangy Honey Potato Rice Idli RECIPE

Original Idli , given a twist with Honey. The chutney is spicy. The dish is a combination of sweet and spicy which is very unique.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Rice idli batter- 500gm
  2. Salt to taste
  3. FOR STUFFING-
  4. Potatoes 3
  5. Garlic cloves, 2 minced
  6. Onion, 1 small, chopped
  7. Tomato sauce, 1tsp
  8. Red chilli sauce, 1tsp
  9. Honey, 1 1/2tsp
  10. Vinegar, 2tsp
  11. Salt to taste
  12. Sesame seeds, 1tsp
  13. Oil for frying
  14. For Chutney
  15. Coriander leaves, 250gm
  16. Green chillies, 3-4
  17. Cumin seeds, 1tsp
  18. Salt, 1tsp
  19. Lemon juice, 2tsp
  20. Water as required

Instructions

  1. For preparing stuffing- Take potatoes and microwave for 4 minutes.
  2. Now peel them when cooled and chop into small pieces.
  3. Fry the potato pieces.
  4. Now take a bowl and add these potatoes, add garlic, onion, tomato sauce, red chilli sauce, honey, salt vinegar and sesame seeds and mix everything well.
  5. Your stuffing is ready.
  6. Now take the idli moulds and grease them with oil.
  7. Now take idli batter mix in salt and then pour small amount of idli batter in all moulds.
  8. Now put small amount of honey potato mixture.
  9. Again pour the batter over it to cover the stuffing.
  10. Now cook it for 10-12 minutes.
  11. Meanwhile your idlis are getting ready.
  12. Take a grinder and add coriander leaves, cumin seeds, green chillies, salt, lemon juice and water as required and grind to paste.
  13. Your Chutney is also ready.
  14. Serve the honey potato rice idlis with Chutney and enjoy.
