Honey Pear Cake

Ingredients to make Honey Pear Cake

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 stick butter (100 gms)
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup thick curd
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large ripe pear

How to make Honey Pear Cake

  1. Grease and line one 8 inch round cake pan. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C
  2. Whisk together first five ingredients in a large bowl.
  3. In another bowl, beat butter and sugar till creamy.
  4. Add eggs and beat till you get a fluffy mixture. Add honey and vanilla extract and mix well.
  5. Beat curd till smooth.
  6. Now add dry ingredients in three shifts. Every time you add dry ingredients, add curd and mix well. Repeat till the ingredients are over.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Level the top with the back of a spoon.
  8. Cut and slice the pear. There should be six to eight slices.
  9. Arrange the slices spirally on the batter. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until the top turns dark brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  10. Cool on the rack. Slice when cold.

My Tip:

The cake is mildly sweet. You may adjust sugar according to your preference for sweetness.
