Pistachio and Almond cake

Ingredients to make Pistachio and Almond cake

  • 50 grams flour
  • 1 cup of caster sugar
  • 250 grams butter
  • 110 grams ground almonds
  • 100 grams ground pistachios
  • 4 eggs beaten
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • Zest of 2 lemons
  • A dash of powdered sugar

How to make Pistachio and Almond cake

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.
  2. Take a bowl, beat the sugar and butter together until it is smooth. Next, gently pour in the beaten eggs slowly, continue beating this mixture till it is firm and mixed well together.
  3. Next, add the ground almonds and pistachios along with the flour, baking powder and lemon zest.
  4. Take a greased baking tin, pour in the mixture gently and bake it for 45 minutes, or until a skewer inserted into the centre comes out clean.
  5. Once cooked, remove it from the oven and let it cool down.
  6. Before serving ,sprinkle the powdered sugar on top of the cake, cut into slices and serve.
