ABOUT Stuffed bittergourd RECIPE

Bittergourd is very good for health. Due to its bitterness, most of the people try to avoid eating bittergourd. This recipe is very tasty and healthy too.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Small bittergourds-10
  2. Salt- to taste
  3. Chilli powder-1 spoon
  4. Turmeric powder-2 pinches
  5. Kaarapodi- 1 cup( made from peanuts, cumin, roasted channa,redchillies, salt, curry leaves, garlic)
  6. Onions-2
  7. Oil-2 tbsp
  8. Buttermilk- 1/2 cup

Instructions

  1. Wash bittergourd and make a slit vertically and boil with buttermilk and salt.
  2. Remove from that pan and let it cool for 10 min.
  3. Now remove the seeds from the slit and keep aside.
  4. In a non stick pan, add oil and add onions, bittergourds seeds and fry till golden brown.
  5. Switch off the stove and add kaarapodi to this onion mixture and mix gently.
  6. Fill the bittergourds with this mixture .
  7. Heat oil in non stick pan and wait till oil becomes very hot. Now add stuffed bittergourds to hot oil and fry on all sides.
  8. When done, add seasoning and coriander leaves to garnish.
  9. Transfer it to a serving bowl.
