ABOUT Bitter guard pudi RECIPE

This is a spicy powder made with bitter gourds and cpices, that can be a very good accompaniment with dosa, idli or even rotis.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Bitter gourd 2,
  2. Dried coconut 1,
  3. garlic 8 pods,
  4. red chilli powder 1 tsp,
  5. tamarind 2 marble sized pieces
  6. Jagerry 2 marble sized pieces
  7. salt
  8. water
  9. Oil
  10. mustard seeds - 1 tsp
  11. Curry leaves - 10

Instructions

  1. Wash bitter gourd and hcop into small pieces, add salt, tamarind, jaggery, water and boil for 5 mins. Cool it and strain it. Take a pan add oil, add mustard, boiled bitter guard, fry till water evaporates. Add curry leaves and mix well.
  2. Grind the dried coconut, chilli powder, salt, garlic into a coarse powder, add to pan and mix well. Serve with rice or roti or pulka.
