Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Bitter gourd - 500 gms
  2. Finely chopped onion - 4
  3. Roasted cumin seeds powder - 1 tsp
  4. Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  5. Red chilly powder - 1 tsp
  6. Garam masala powder - 1 tsp
  7. Tamarind chutney - 1 tbsp
  8. Curd - 4 tbsp
  9. Sugar - 1 tsp
  10. Salt - to taste
  11. Oil - 4 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Wash and chop bitter gourd in a round shape.
  2. Soak in salted water for half an hour.
  3. Remove water from bitter gourd.
  4. Heat oil in a pan.
  5. Add bitter gourd and fry till brown.
  6. Add roasted cumin seeds powder,red chilly powder,turmeric powder and salt and saute for one mins and keep aside..
  7. Again heat oil in a pan.
  8. Add onion and saute till brown.
  9. Add fried karela and tamarind chutney and mix well.
  10. Add sugar in the curd and mix in the pan.
  11. Cover it and cook in a low flame.
  12. Add garam masala powder and switch off the gas.
