Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Bitter gourds-8
  2. Salt- as per our taste
  3. Turmeric powder- 2 pinches
  4. Chilli powder- 1 spoon
  5. Tamarind- lemon size soaked in water
  6. Jaggery- 1 spoon
  7. Mustard seeds, cumin, channa dal, split urid dal, curry leaves, crushed garlic- for seasoning
  8. Onion-1
  9. Green Chillies-2

Instructions

  1. Wash and cut bittergourd into 1 inch thick slices
  2. Heat a kadai and add oil in it and do the seasoning and next add onions and fry till it gets golden brown colour.
  3. Now add salt, turmeric, chilli powder and saute for 5 min
  4. Now add tamarind juice and little water and cook for few min
  5. Now add bittergourd pieces and little jaggery and cook till the gravy thickens and garnish with coriander leaves.
