ABOUT SIMPLE SWEET PUMPKIN HALWA RECIPE

Well, the advantage of working with people from different states is that you learn their culture which also includes their food and festivals. Recently, We Indians celebrated our own New Year in the name of Gudi Padwa, Baisakhi , Ugadi , Vishu, Pana Sankrati , Pôhela Boishakh , Tamil Puthandu etc etc. Every state celebrates new year in their own unique style which falls on a date different from January 1. Oh, we celebrate that too btw... While I try to follow as much as possible when it comes to food, this year has been difficult for me to keep up with the pace. Nevertheless, I managed to make sweet pongal and Pumpkin Halwa just at the nick of time. It was simple and quick and hassle-free which was best the choice in the sweltering heat.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 2 cups Rawa or Idli Rawa.
  2. 2 cups grated Pumpkin
  3. 1 cup grated fresh coconut
  4. 1 tsp pepper powder and cardamom powder
  5. 1 Cup powdered Jaggery
  6. Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Mix Everything together.
  2. Make smalls balls.
  3. Steam in turmeric leaves or banana leaves
  4. Our Sweet Pumpkin Kadubu is ready.
  5. While serving, crumble the balls and serve with some chopped dry fruits.
