Yes the name sounds correct, this is mocking the eggs but a delicious vegetarian bites. This is a perfect starter or snacks for all occasions.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 cup boiled pumpkin pieces
  2. 1/2 cup fried chana dal (chutney bdal)powder
  3. 1/2cup moong dal (soake into the water for 1 hour)
  4. 4 green chillies
  5. 3 red chillies
  6. 1 tsp cumin powder
  7. 1 tsp dhania(coriander) powder
  8. Salt to taste
  9. Ingredients for cover:
  10. 1 1|/2 cup rice flour
  11. 1 Cup water
  12. 2 tbsp ghee
  13. a pinch Salt

Instructions

  1. Drain the water in moong dal.
  2. Take mixy pot, put moong dal, chana dal flour, boiled pumpkin, green chillies, red chillies, cumin powder, dhania powder, salt grind all together coarsely.
  3. Paste should be thick.
  4. Keep aside
  5. In a pan , add salt water and bring boil.
  6. Add 1 tsp ghee into the water.
  7. Now add rice flour, stirr it fast and quickly,turn off the flame.
  8. Keep aside dough for 10 minutes.
  9. For steaming, keep water to boil in steamer
  10. Now knead boiled rice flour dough with hands.
  11. Make large lemon size balls with the dough.
  12. If stick the dough to your palms apply little ghee in your palms.
  13. Roll balls like pooris.
  14. Now lift pooris carefully in your palm, spread 1tbsp dall mixture on it.
  15. Now fold and bring edges together to form a half moon shape.similar yo gujhiya, seal the edges by pressing them together gently
  16. Finish all balls like this.
  17. Now place them sufficiently spaced in the steamer.
  18. Steam them with cover 10 to 12 minutes.
  19. After cooling remove from the steamer with spatula.
  20. Apply little ghee on boiled veg eggs
  21. Wait to cool down to handle with hands directly.
  22. Cut them and arrange into the plate like tear drops shape.
  23. Serve with any chutney/sauce.
