Mix veg upma with oats

Ingredients to make Mix veg upma with oats

  • 1/2 cup roasted semolina (suji)
  • 1/4 cup oats
  • 1+ 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 2 tbsp each of chopped capsicum, cabbage, carrot, onion and peas
  • 4 tsp green chillies
  • 2 tbsp green coriander, finely chopped
  • 5-6 leaves of kadi patta (meethi neem)
  • 1 tsp rai/ mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp each of chana and urad dal
  • Salt as per taste
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp deep fried peanuts

How to make Mix veg upma with oats

  1. Start by heating the oil, then add the meethi neem, rai and dal. Fry them for a few minutes.
  2. Then add in all the vegetables and cook for 4 minutes.
  3. Add the green chillies, tomatoes and salt. Mix it well and cook for 1 whole minute or more.
  4. Add suji and oats. Mix it well and cook for 1 more minute.
  5. Then add water and mix it well, stir continuously till the oil leaves the pan sides.
  6. Pour in the lemon juice. Mix it well and turn off the flame.
  7. Shift in a serving bowl and garnish with coriander and fried peanuts.
My Tip: To add more spice, you can add 4 tsp of green chillies, but don't add red chillies as it will change the colour of this dish.
